Scout, along with Gunner, is one of the two free basic Marksman-type classes in CRITICAL STRIKE.

Appearance[]

Scout appears to have light armor, consisting of boots and some cape-like strands on its back. It wields dual crossbows as weapons.

Overview[]

Scout is a quick class that can consistently fire crossbow bolts at its targets. In fact, all of its moves revolve around firing bolts. Its attacks can do well at close to long-range, making a skilled Scout a deadly foe against any class. It also makes up for it in high power burst attacks, and the ability to air-stall, making them almost completely invulnerable for a few seconds.

However, it lacks consistent damage with short ranged attacks, not suitable for fighting long-ranged classes. Since AB1 and AB2 has infinite range, but it also requires heavy aim to be hit, making it not noob-friendly despite being a beginner class.

Summary: Excellent range, okay mobility and damage, but requires AIM.

Notes[]

  • CRT will not deal any damage if the target is extremely close to Scout; the target must at least be a few pixels away.

Tips and Tricks[]

  • A Scout's most powerful weapon at longer range's is it's AB2, with high damage and projectile speed. Learning how to consistently land your AB2 is a big step forward to becoming a strong Scout main.
  • Using CRT is a great way to deal damage to foes who try to rush you down since it gets stronger when your foes are close. Sometimes, if you really need the extra damage, you can try to get closer, use CRT, then zone with AB1.
  • Use AB1 when you are falling to void it may save you from even touching Void.
  • Use AB2 if you're opponent is trying to get at a heal. The Injured debuff disables your opponent from getting healed, which can open up for a finishing CRT.
  • Jumping then using AB1 as soon as land will massively reduce the jump height. Making you closer to the ground while shooting. This can help you land more shots easier however, this will leave you vulnerable as you can easily be attacked.

Combos[]

AB1 > CRT / AB2 - By leaping into the air with AB1, Scout can make a surprise landing in front of or behind the target and stack up considerable damage with CRT / AB2.

CRT > AB1 - By dealing considerable damage and then jumping into the air as an escape, the target will be inclined to retreat, allowing Scout to also retreat.

AB2 > CRT > AB1

  • This can put any non-tank class in grave danger and bar them from the ability to heal.
  • Hitting all three does require skill and near-perfect positioning, but if you manage to do so, your opponents best hope they can dodge.
  • The thing that rubs the salt in the wounds is the fact that AB1 is a powerful retreat tool, meaning by the time you're done with the combo you're already far from melee range.

  • Crossbows look more like miniature versions of the Hunter's crossbow. Has a fedora with a feather in it as well as a two-part cape.

Trivia[]

  • In April Fools 2023, Scout's AB1 was used to fire 30 bolts which was a total of 120 damage. AB2 was replaced with a pellet of Elementalist Water's ATK and CRT was changed to true damage and increased to 8 damage.
  • Scout has a higher skill ceiling compared to other beginner classes, due to its slight reliance on good aim.
  • Scout is can be one of the most annoying classes on Critical Strike due to high burst damage and high mobility combining to quadruple scout's ability to steal kills.
  • Scout's special ability use sounds are taken from the Force a Nature in TF2, a scout class weapon with high burst damage, and the ability to boost mobility.
  • In early v5.0.0, ATK used to shoot one needle that dealt only 5 damage.

Update History[]

  • v5.5.2: Scout rebalanced:
    • NeutralChange ATK now fires 2 bolt instead of one, dealing more total damage. However, it's CD is increased from 0.3s -> 0.4s.
    • Regen AB1 has increased projectile speed.
    • Regen AB2 now do extra 15% of target's max HP as true damage.
  • v5.8.5:
    • NeutralChange AB1 spins vertically instead of horizontally.
  • v5.9.5b:
    • Blank Image AB2: Cooldown increased. (4s -> 5s)
    • Blank Image AB2: On-hit Injured duration reduced. (5s -> 3s)
