"You'll relive the most traumatic moment of your life over and over and over again, but even then, that's simply too merciful."

Chrono is one of eleven Unique-tier classes that costs 5 Godlike Tokens in CRITICAL STRIKE.

Appearance[]

Chrono possesses light armor and a small canister with a time watch inside, which is presumably where they get their power for their abilities. They wield a sword-machete hybrid, which they hold backward. It looks rather light yet large.

Chrono uses a very uncommon sword technique wherein he swings his sword forwards, thereafter flips it and swings backward, carrying the weight of his first swing backward and allowing him to smoothly slash.

Overview[]

Summary: Controller's melee variant. Can maneuver themselves and the target insanely well, but sucks against anything that can out-range it.

Chrono is mostly skill-based and has an incredible skill ceiling, but it's not light on newbies and is a pretty complicated class to learn. But, if you learn how to use them, they‘re an incredible class for combos. Having the ability to sometimes perform an infinite combo, if placed correctly, it can easily defeat opponents with its special effects. It has a HP pool of 90 (Higher than average class, low for a Brawler) and has decent mobility of 35 speed.

Chrono although has a high skill ceiling, as said before. You truly need to be careful before using moves, as missing can be a fatal mistake. Chrono's moves are extremely punishable but are very rewarding. For a brawler, it has an above-average damage output and keeps it consistent. Chrono's rewind effect is great for dealing damage or running and slowed/TS is great as well.

Chrono is not a hard class to pick up and play, but to truly master it requires a good amount of experience.

Strengths[]

Chrono is incredible for landing combos on their opponents. Additionally, due to their AB1, they can land a lot of melee hits, giving them a nice amount of damage when it comes to melee fights. It is also great for chasing opponents with low health.

Chrono also can "manipulate" time, which can be very easily abused into lots of combos. It can easily pester and chip until it delivers the finishing blow. It can keep a good distance away and also has unavoidable moves (like Reaper). It can be fun to play also, not taking much skill to learn.

Weaknesses []

Chrono heavily struggles against tanks and marksmen alike. It really just doesn't have enough burst damage to take care of tanks and marksmen can quite easily harass it so long as they keep their distance.

Chrono also doesn't have the range or versatility of other Brawlers like Spearman, and is very melee-oriented. You can try to rush as Chrono, but you definitely cannot sustain combat against burst or marksmen.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • Use your CRT to get to an enemy and thereafter use your AB1 on them to stop them. Some classes are simply too slow to dodge. However, if they dodge it, they can easily combo you.
  • (unconfirmed -YoGotBadDabbed) There might be a possible infinite combo: CRT, then AB2 (wait for rewind), then AB1, recast AB1, get CRT, then open up an AB2, then restart the combo. Do note that this combo will leave you slightly vulnerable, but can kill enemies in around 1-2 cycles.
  • Use your melee as much as you can, it's the best damage that Chrono has access to.
  • Always try to read the situation before you go in, taking on two or more targets can be devastating depending on what class they are.
  • Your AB2 is almost a guarantee that people can't run away from you when it lands. Use it against anybody that you think will try to run away. Another use for it is that you can use it to score a melee hit or two once they've been rewound. However, the move itself can leave you punishable.
  • AB1 lets you get easy CRT or AB2 in, make sure to always use it in combos.
  • Avoid classes such as Valkyrie, Duelist, Knight, Reaper, or Cowboy as they can easily counter you if you're not careful.
    • To avoid this, do not use CRT frequently, as they will wait for that opening specifically to counter you. Instead, try to bait them into using the counter (spam ATK, AB1) due to these classes not having such a high burst output to defeat you.
  • You can theoretically rewind people into the void when Final Strike starts. Don't do this, it'll fail probably.
  • ATK is your best source of damage, and is good for a filler move.
  • AB1 doesn’t count as charge for some reason, so you can do other stuffs while channeling AB1’s (like ATK).

Combos[]

AB2 > CRT

  • Wait for about 3s, then CRT. While you're waiting for 3s, try to use ATK to rack up more damage if you want.
  • You can replace CRT with double AB1 to deal more damage when the player is time-stopped.

CRT > AB1 > AB1 > (ATK > AB2)

  • CRT lets you catch up with them, and AB1 lets you stop them.
  • In addition, you can add some ATK and AB2 after this combo to score more damages.

AB1 > ATK / CRT

  • Using ATK while AB1 deals 18 damage if you can time the AB1 with the ATK (Thanks, hitboxes!).
    • This let you stack damage on the dash, hiding your ATK so that people wouldn't know there's your ATK in AB1.
  • On use of CRT, scaling the distance with AB1 to catch up the foes then unleash CRT to deal damage on them.
    • This especially works if you can predict well the player's movement.

Trivia[]

  • In April Fools 2023, AB2 added Alternate to yourself and the player hit. CRT was changed to scan nearby players around you and deal 3x7 damage to marked players.
    • The CRT references to famous Time Stop ability from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure or the rip-off game of the said anime series Your Bizzare Adventure which people time stops then land a punch barrage on them.
  • In v5.7.5, Chrono was permanently purchased with a gamepass costed 50 Robux.
  • Chrono had been reworked twice.
    • Its recent pre-rework can be seen at its moveset icons.
      • Old AB1 is current CRT.
      • Old AB2 is current AB1.
      • Old CRT is current AB2.
  • Chrono used to be borderline broken when it came to final strike due to their CRT being a large AoE that stopped all enemies in the enclosed space, meaning that they were annoying to defeat when it came to final strike.'
  • Chrono after its first rework used to shoot a larger, slower clock. This was replaced by its smaller, faster one.
  • Chrono is a reference to the anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, as it uses the SFX of the main antagonist's ability, "The World' where he stops time for Chrono's ability which involves time stopping (which is also a reference to JJBA).
  • Chrono might partially reference Ekko from League of Legends, who has similar abilities to Temporal Strike and Temporal Gateway.
  • Chrono may reference to a Greek Titan, Kronos, the lord of time. Kronos is just Zeus's titan father, Chronos is the Greek personification of time, confusing, I know.
    • Chrono's class model may have taken inspiration from the champion Ekko from the game League of Legends, as their time machetes look very similar along with the time device on their backs.
    • Chrono's ability to rewind time is a reference to one of Ekko's abilities, which lets him rewind time.
  • There was a point when many considered Chrono to be one of the most annoying classes in the game. Whether this still holds true now or not is uncertain.
  • Chrono weapon wield in order from CS2 to CS5: Dual swords (CS2) -> None (CS3~)-> Single sword -> None -> Single sword (CS4 ~ Current)
  • In early CS3, Chrono can throw 3 grenades that stops players.
